Abstraction and perspective

Photographs where the form and composition go beyond the traditional notion of reality. Those can be abstract photographs, playing on our reality stereotypes. Those can also be abstract photographs involving the play of mind and imagination, light and colour, light and shadow, facture and texture, experiments with the form, focus and geometry as well as visually pure and expressive photographs, where simplicity, conciseness, and minimalist use of elements combine with the depth of idea. This nomination assesses the photographer ability to transmit unusual visual images, which evoke emotion, associations and lead to reflection.
