The 2nd International Photography Festival “LIGHT AND COLOUR” will be held in Yelets, Lipetsk oblast on 14-17 August 2025. Similarly to the previous year the Festival participants will be able to enjoy an intense learning program, meetings with the best masters of photography, and over 50 events held by the organizers, partners and experts.
Festival mission: to set up in Yelets a site for the demonstration of the best works by the modern photography artists from Russia and other countries, to hold personal and collective photographic exhibitions, to conduct educational events, to improve the qualification and visual culture of the Festival participants, cross-communication and experience exchange.
Aim of the Festival: to organize and carry out a cultural and educational event interesting for wider public, that will use Yelets and Lipetsk oblast as examples to demonstrate tourist and photographic attraction of small Russian towns and their environs as a reflection of cultural code, multi-ethnicity, authenticity, adherence to age long traditions, richness of history, folk art, diversity of tourist sites and natural landscapes.
RULES OF PARTICIPATION
Any person over 18 can participate in the Festival regardless of their place of residence. We invite professional photographers, amateurs, photo artists, bloggers, curators, photo editors, art reviewers, designers, travelers and everybody interested in photography and gaining new knowledge in this field to take part in the Festival.
The Festival participants are required to go through free registration online at the project site https://www.svet-tsvet.ru and then personally confirm their registration in the Festival Office upon arrival to Yelets. The Festival participants will have to personally cover the travel and accommodation expenses, they can stay in hotels, hostels, halls of residence in Yelets. Then they will need to pass personal registration and will receive Festival program, participant passport, information on speakers and partners, and the right of free access to all the Festival events.
HOW TO GET TO THE FESTIVAL LOCATION?
The driving distance from Moscow to Yelets is 384 km if you use M4 motorway. You can get to Yelets by intercity bus, train or personal car. The intercity busses leave from different bus stations in Moscow. Approximate time of travel is 5 hours, one way fare is from 1400 to 3000 RUR depending on the time of day and the transport company. You can pick the convenient time of travel on bus station web sites. Trains go from Vostochny, Paveletsky, Kursky and Kievsky stations in Moscow. Time of travel is around 7-8 hours. One way fare 2 000 to 7 000 RUR.
